American actress and singer best known for roles in Funny Girl, Yentl, The Owl and the Pussycat, The Prince of Tides, Hello, Dolly!, The Way We Were and A Star is Born (1976). As a singer she's had memorable songs such as "People", "The Way We Were", "Evergreen", "It Had to Be You", "I've Dreamed of You", "Somewhere", "Don't Rain on My Parade", "Woman in Love" and "You Don't Bring Me Flowers". In a 1991 almanac she was described as being 5ft 4.5.
